Hi Nicole! I can't even remember how I came across your writing, but I really enjoy it! Thank you for sharing! I think you and I might be kinfolk--I am a Dulaney living in Alum Ridge.
My mom’s death in 2013 left me feeling untethered and alone. A dear cousin had been doing genealogy for decades, and I reached out to her to help me stretch back and find connections. I was hooked!
My 2x great grandmother, Caroline, is enduringly fascinating to me. She was trained as a professional midwife in Gdańsk when she was 32 and the mother of four with one in the oven. The family came to WI in 1887 and she continued her practice, delivering over 2,000 babies by 1914. She died in 1930 and family stories say she had delivered a baby earlier that week.
Currently I’m working on transcribing and verifying a family oral history and turning it into a book for my paternal line. I love doing the research and adding historical context! But I have several other projects going at the same time so I don’t get bored 🤹♀️
Looking forward to reading more from you - our little genealogy community is the best!
